Hello fellow friends!

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

— Oscar Wilde.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. I picked Zamboanga as the best place to visit because, indeed it is a great place to relax and chill, plus it is my mother’s hometown! So, read on and pack up your bags. Zambaonga City Hall

The Zamboanga City Hall exhibits its old world charm and is an important landmark in the history of Zamboanga and the whole of Mindanao.

The city hall is located in the main town of Zamboanga del Sur. Surrounded with the community in the place, it shines as it is centred in the town.

The tower now is where at some point of the day the siren is blared. The city government starts decorating the tower every December and it transforms into a light show, several families and friends come and spend a fun Christmas night in the City Hall’s plaza complex.

Pasonanca Park

The Pasonanca Park, featured with a variety of tourism – tree houses, mini museums, butterfly farm and a beautiful camp site. Filled with beautiful and amazing nature, the park gives visitors their best memories of fresh air, wide space and amazing scenery.

The park is 2-hour-drive from the Merloquet Falls and is a very great place to visit and spend quality time with your family and friends.

Merloquet Falls

Located in Barangay Sibulao, Merloquet Falls is proud about two hours away from downtown Zamboanga City, near the city’s border with Zamboanga Sibugay. It’s a two-tiered drop, but its main attraction is its base’s beautiful curtain waterfalls, about 10 metres high and 15 metres wide stair-like wall to a shallow pool, definitely one of the beauty in Philippines.

Here’s how to get from downtown Zamboanga City to Merloquet Falls:

  1. Catch a bus from Zamboanga City Integrated Bus Terminal to Pagadian, Dipolog, or Ipil. It takes about two hours to travel and the fare is around P150.
  2. Get off at the bus stop in Barangay Vitali and charter a habital to get to the waterfalls. Rate is one-way between P50 and P70 per person.
  3. Take the 370-step stairs for 500 metres
