Located in Barangay Sibulao, Merloquet Falls is proud about two hours away from downtown Zamboanga City, near the city’s border with Zamboanga Sibugay. It’s a two-tiered drop, but its main attraction is its base’s beautiful curtain waterfalls, about 10 metres high and 15 metres wide stair-like wall to a shallow pool, definitely one of the beauty in Philippines.
Here’s how to get from downtown Zamboanga City to Merloquet Falls:
- Catch a bus from Zamboanga City Integrated Bus Terminal to Pagadian, Dipolog, or Ipil. It takes about two hours to travel and the fare is around P150.
- Get off at the bus stop in Barangay Vitali and charter a habital to get to the waterfalls. Rate is one-way between P50 and P70 per person.
- Take the 370-step stairs for 500 metres
